Convention 2000 will be remembered as 5 days of information, presented in a PHUN way! The workshops for alumnae were great, and the chapter will be implementing some of the new ideas in it's programming this year! The Marriott Harbor Beach Resort was wonderful, the weather was nice (except during our free time, of course!), and it was cute to see the bellhops wearing Phi Mu buttons! We awoke one morning to find our letters in the sand by the ocean (see above photo), and during free-time on Saturday "Phi Mus are All That" was seen flying above the beach!
Philadelphia-Suburban was well-represented in Fort Lauderdale! Joy S. attended as chapter delegate ~ her first convention (and, in her words, she PHINALLY PHEELS LIKE A PHULL-PHLEDGED PHI MU!). Several members were there as chapter advisers: Jennifer J (Beta Tau, Drexel), Eustacia M. (Phi Lambda, West Chester) and
Kim M. (Phi Kappa, Muhlenberg). Molly S. was busy meeting with alumnae, as her new job of Area 1 Alumnae Membership Director got into gear. Nancy C. arrived in Lauderdale early, enjoying the beach and sights before being elected to the Phi Mu Foundation Board of Trustees. Paula P. and Annette L. attended as visitors, which allowed them to play more and relax!
Everyone has their sights set on Convention 2002 in Atlanta~Georgia, when Phi Mu will celebrate 150 years! Hope to see you there too!
