Phi Mu Fraternity has been a National Sponsor of Children's Miracle Network since 1987. Since then, Phi Mu collegians and alumnae have raised over $4 million for Children's Hospitals all over the United States. The money is used to purchase equipment and supplies needed to treat patients. The best part of this organization, however, is that the money that is raised in an area stays IN THAT AREA!!!
On a local level, Philadelphia-Suburban has raised nearly $4000 since 1996, and raised $200 for the 2007 Telethon, through chapter donations and gift wrapping at Barnes & Noble.
The third Monday in October is National Philanthropy Day. Introduced at the 1999 Leadership Conferences, the first NPD occurred on October 18. The purpose is for all Phi Mus to be visible in their communities in full force! This year the event will occur on Monday, October 16, 2006.
PHUNDRAISERS
Creative ways to raise money for CMN and Phi Mu Foundation ~ that's our goal! Ideas have varied as much as the women that have participated! We have had casino bus trips, beef and beverages, gift wrapping at local malls and Barnes & Noble, bowlathons, home demonstration parties, garage sales and member donations.
